The Köln International School of Design (in short: KISD) is an institution of the Cologne University of Applied Sciences (''Fachhochschule Köln'') and offers an interdisciplinary study program in the field of design. In 2002 – eleven years after the ''Cologne Model of design education'' was initiated in 1991 – the school was renamed to ''Köln International School of Design''. ==History== In 1991 Michael Erlhoff and his colleagues founded the Department of Design at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences.〔(KISD, 20 years of history )〕 In the 2014 term, circa 35% of the student body came from abroad.
